So this is super off-topic, but is there a reason that you chose orange as the sites primary color?

I know that orange is supposed to inspire creativity in others which is why John Lennon used to wear orange shades.

Also, I'm learning how to code sites and as a project I was tasked to recreate one... GC it is :).

Thanks,

Doc

Doc-

Sounds like a fun (and probably pretty involved) project!

No conscious decision making there. Other than I liked the look.

That was I think 2009. We had an all-black site with white text from 2008 until then I think.

After a year so I went looking for a new theme for the site. Went through hundreds of them and couldn't find any I liked until I found the "Abarre" theme:

Liked it and used it.

The original 2008 logo I made had some orange in it:

I think that preceded the Abarre theme. So maybe I liked orange for the site subconsciously or something.

Then once we had the 2009 logo designed, we already had the Abarre theme so I wanted to keep it orange to match.

When we did the site redesigns in 2013 and 2016, the colors were part of the brand by then.

It's possible orange drew me because it is a "power color." Or at least when I studied color meanings so I could give accurate readings to girls back in the day when I used to run The Cube, the meaning of orange was "power." And power is probably the best color meaning for a site aimed at empowering men to get the women they wanted to pursue them and otherwise become masculine, successful guys.

Chase,

Totally will be. I'm quite confident that if I can replicate this site I'll be on my way to making amazing sites for well-paying clients!

Interesting information. Thanks for sharing.

Personally, the orange theme is quite powerful for me. It creates a sense of, "Ah... yes. This site looks like it knows what it's talking about." It also causes me to take it more seriously in the sense that it has an open-minded effect.

Anyway, thanks for your reply. Much appreciated :)
