Hand holding / caressing as a first (public) move : had an epiphany with 60 YOC

I quickly came across an article, from 60 YOC if I remember correctl, where he describes "hand caressing" as the best way to cement and make attraction official.

He says it's better than any other form of touching peppered throughout the interaction (incidental and all that crap) and can be easily done in public as well and also while standing in front of each other in a cafe.

As I read it, it was a bit of an epiphany as I remembered a few past instances where it worked wonders (Two examples out 4-5 instances, mostly girl-initiated: once I extended my arm out to make a girl stand in front of me and she just... Sensually caressed my hand a few long seconds before standing up, making out, and then moving to sex and the other one as a girl was uncomfortable with my hand on her leg but was perfectly happy with my hand over her hand, then with slightly interlocked fingers and shortly after moving to my place)

It seemed like a great idea to cement emotional and physical proximity without going for a bigger state change move like a kiss and/or "risking" without breaking the physical wall at all till the very last isolation.

What do you guys think?

I think that I'd better start doing this shit on dates because I barely touch girls during dates.

I remember this time where I had my hand on the thigh of a semi-friend of mine and she vehemently took my hand off while we talked. I was so fucking pissed that I never tried something like that again.

Seems like a low risk alternative and reassurance before going for the kiss in low energy dates such as coffee dates. Interested in this as well.

This is the key. Done it. :) Too long and it sails into relationship island, a land of despair. (haha)

Handholding in public is a great way to build physical connection. It's a romantic gesture, and it doesn't necessarily put you in bf zone....BUT only do it when you feel like it, do not do it as a technique to get an outcome. It will fall flat and get awkward if you're just forcing your hand on her hand when the underlying vibe isn't right. (But still try anyway just for reference experience. When you think it, do it!) From my experience, if me and the girl like each other enough to hold hands in public, I can usually pull her home and have sex with her. There's probably only one instance where it didn't work out.

Handholding is one thing, the guy mostly recommended "hand caressing" though, which I suppose is something like hand on hand or hand in hand and... Yeah, caressing or lightly touching it and see if it's mutual.

Yes, if someone else already did will save a lot of time though (and apparently that guy recommending did it).

Also there are a couple of caveats on trying it yourself: you gotta do it a lot of times to finalize works/doesn't work and even when it doesn't, you can't be sure it's not because you weren't doing it correctly.

Anyway, just the other day a girl said she was nervous at my place, so... Hand caressing :).
I think it was gonna end up in a lay even without the hand caressing, yet it seemed to help a lot in soothing nervousness and worries about me, much better than most any other physical gesture.
