I am unsure of what to do with my hair. I have had it long in the past as a sort of skater style, and it generated a lot of interest from girls. I was known as the guy with skater hair.
Then I got a drastic haircut and got a very short slicked up neat look. I aimed to look like Godfrey Gao or Alexander Skarsgard (also James Dean). And this generated a lot of interest as well, as I have very defined cheekbones and it showed them better. While I like my new hair, I am concerned about several things. One, my new hairstyle is not very edgy. If I were able to grow facial hair this would be a killer combo of edgy and polished but right now it is a bit too nice guy-esque. Two, I have a long sort of face (not that long though) and it makes my face appear a bit long ( this may just be my imagination. What are some ways to make a hairstyle edgier or what are sone edgy hairstyles?

Byron,

You can wear sunglasses that fit your face to break it up into sections. This makes you face seem shorter than it actually is.

Get some paste for your hair:

http://www.amazon.com/Tigi-Bed-Head-Man ... s=bed+head

Something like that, put it on your hands and semi damp hair. Work it all around, and use your palm as well. After you are done, grab a towel and dry it off, in a forward (back to front) motion. Swivel the sides with a circular motion a bit (the palm works, also a towel). Always focus on getting the hair forward to back, and don't have stuff sticking straight up, it should be all over the place.

The end look should be similar to dry hair, but with volume and messiness. You can throw in a TOUCH of hairspray (much less than you'd think you might need) before the towel drying, which will help give the dry look.

I wear it a bit longer now, but when my hair used to be like that I'd have flocks of girls going up and smelling / grabbing my hair. That above paste smells like coconut, and I once had about 10 girls smell it / grab it in a row, and then my professor who said "it smells good enough to eat!". They also pull really hard on it during sex / kissing, which can get annoying, but whatever.

Eric is on the ball here once again. To start you off with getting the look you want reading this would benefit you in learning what you are actually putting in your hair and when to use different types of products to achieve your ideal look. Guide to hair products

To get your hair to stay in the way you want it follow this routine:
- Shower w/ or w/out Shampoo and conditioner
- Dry your hair mostly using a towel
- Apply your wax/powder/gel
- Blow dry your hair until dry
- Add hair spray to suit your look to further the hold throughout the day

note: blow-drying your hair and even towel drying your hair can cause damage - luckily for us men we often aim to keep our hair short and this won't bother us much. Talk to your hairdresser if any problems arise however.
