So I am not getting any younger as I have realized and soon I will be in my late 20s. I have made great money in my current job which allows me to live in NYC but it is a business job with corporate rules of course. Obviously, I enjoy doing it and the work I get out of it.
Dating back to college, I always wanted to do it but could not. Now I am in a tough spot.
Right out of college my career took off on the right trajectory, I have had a few promotions, last gig did not work out but current one is off to a great start at a great company. I have a good work environment as well.
At the same time I feel like if I do not scratch this bartending and nightlife work itch, being around those people, loose girls, party girls, and that kind of a crowd; I will live life with regret. I don't want to do it forever but I do want to do it for a few years to get it out of my system, only thing is by then I will be in my 30s by then.
I've had a few thoughts:
1. I do it on top of a 9 to 5, so I work 70+ hours, whatever. Only problem is I cannot find a bar that will work with me on this schedule.
2. I quit my 9 to 5 for a year and then do it, then come back into my career, but then it is tougher for me to get a job.
3. I just keep working at my current job, get rich as fuck, and then in my 30s bartend at a bar I co-own or something along those lines if that is what it takes.
Any and all help appreciated.
