Hi Guys,
I think what makes Chase great is that he relates where you are. I think the problem with most of advice dishing is that it isn't bad advices but rather, it doesn't serve as ladder to the next step.
Given an example, recently on GC board. One guy wanted to detach himself from women. and normal advice will often be to either
1)give him the next step
2)rant on how 'wrong' he is
3)give him the full picture
The thing is giving a person who earns $5000 a month, a Ferrari, doesn't serve him because he cannot maintain it. But it's a human desire to want more and he will be left hang and dry if he has no inspiration. The key here to offer advice is... it's a combination of knowing where the person is, relating, give him the reasons why, and how it will progress slightly beyond his problem. The reason we show him a slightly bigger picture compared to the full picture is because it helps him rather than demotivates him.
This is the killer combination.
