How do I hook up with a friend?

I've known this girl for about 2 years. I consider us to be pretty decent friends. We see each other a couple times a month and basically we drink/hang out together with our group of friends (we have a lot of mutual friends). She has shown interest in me before, but that's been quite a while ago (she's had a boyfriend for the past year or more that she just broke up with). I didn't act on it, because... well, I don't really know why!

Anyway, I asked her to go to a concert Friday night with me and some friends. And yes, I asked in a way that a friend would ask a friend. So, now she is going to this concert with me and two other couples. I think she can sense that I'm trying to get a little fresh with her but I'm not showing too many cards at this point, because I'm not sure how to approach the situation.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice, or can point me to some resources on here (or elsewhere) that might give some insight on how to hook up with a girl that you already know/are friends with?

I will give you a couple of theories you can toss around and see what you think.

1. let her see you with other women so she can see you're preselected. This could also put her into auto rejection I guess.. Up to you how you want to play it.

2. Chase frame her like "you kept me around this whole time as your back up plan." change subject.

3. Escalate, be sexual and isolate. Put it in a frame that "It just happened"

I would personally go with a little bit of all of them. Only you know the real situation, but you are definitely going to want it in the "It just happened" category to make this a possibility, you both get back everyone left and it's just you two. Problem is if she resists because she doesn't want to ruin your friendship. That means no more concerts, no more hangouts etc.

All theory, I usually burn girls to the ground if I have interest. I'm actually working on NOT burning them down and friend zoning, but some part of me wont let it happen.

Like Tyme2k has already mentioned, Preselection helps. Let her witness that you are comfortable and popular with other chicks. Sometimes it arouses some jealousy if she is interested in you.

Also, if you've stayed within only the periphiral friend zone (not close friends) with her, then you still have a chance. You should tease her, and start flirting with her lightly from now on. I would break the ice by saying something like:
"You know.. I've always thought you're quite cute ever since I met you. If I wasn't so busy with life, I probably would have given you a chance."
*eye contact and sexy smile*... and then pay attention to how she respond to that.
