Is it possible to look at a girl and know if she is open to someone introducing himself. Ryan gosling in the movie crazy stupid love did it. He asked to steve carrell to go and say hi to a girl in the bar just by looking at the way she was sitting. Chase you've got to come out with an article on this...
If she has her head up, looking around, leaning back, generally appearing "open" then yeah, she probably wants to be approached. If a girl is alone and wants to keep to herself then she'll keep herself busy and look involved in whatever she's doing, if she has nothing to do she'll pretend to check her text messages.

Yeah, I'd agree with the above.
Body language says a lot. If a girl is looking for an approach she'll often just make herslf more "open"... if she's in a group, is she slightly peeled off so someone could approach her or is she fully engaged and surrounding herself with the group.
If she's alone, is she generally closed off and looking like she just wants to be by herself or has she got more open body language or expressions?
I guess it's experience.
I lot of girls don't make it VERY obvious though, so sometimes you just need to go for it.

Yeah, once you start approaching regularly, you'll start to pick up on it. It's just a matter of experience.
