How to deal with hard to get girls?

Ok so there's this girl I slept with a couple weeks ago. I know I gave her a good time but since then she's been "unavailable". I haven't texted her much but on the two times I've asked to see her she's said she's unavailable. Assuming for a second that she's still interesting and just playing hard to get, 2 questions: First, why do girls play hard to get? Second, what's the correct way to proceed with things if you want to get the girl?

She's not interested, otherwise she would make time to see you. Why would you even want to spend time with someone that wasn't excited to see you? If a girl isn't excited to see me, I instantly forget about her and find another one that is. She MIGHT contact you again, but the odds are very low.

Second, what's the correct way to proceed with things if you want to get the girl?

Forget about her and find a replacement.

Yeah you're right. I've just sent her a text saying "ok no worries, let me know when you're back in town and we can meet up." As of now I've decided not to contact her again and the only way i'll see her again is if she chases me up for a meet.
