How to do daygame opener on target who is with a friend / group

This has likely been asked already. I read the article about opening girls in groups, but it focuses mostly on night game. I do daygame, and I very frequently encounter girls I'm instantly attracted to who are (usually) with their female friend. This is natural since I go out on weekends and women are social.

I realize that the odds of a successful opener on a girl with a friend are much lower, but I still see no reason not to open them and at least try. Problem is, I don't have a good process for this.

Of all the times I've opened a girl who's with a one or more (usually) female friends, I've never been able to get a number, etc. I usually freeze up a bit. I can't get the target to switch the pace of the friends and talk to me enough for me to get a number.

I often feel like I'm projecting a needy vibe because they are walking and talking with each other, and I don't have a compelling narrative to shift my target's focus to me..

I often go direct, and that fizzles off with them thanking me for the compliment. Look forward to thoughts.

"Hello, I just wanted to meet your friend here with the amazing hair/smile/shoes/bike etc. Hello I'm Rocky." Reach out to shake her hand.
If she doesn't reciprocate with her name, then you can tease. "Should I call you 'Curly Sue' or is there something else you like to be called?" This will either make her friends laugh and push her to you or get defensive and cockblock.

If she responds with her name, be polite and get the rest of the groups names. Then have your convo with target girl

Be clear and decisive in your intent, but polite.
