How to get rid of her?

This is post is different from what GirlsChase is about, but I still need help with this.

There's a girl in my class (grade 10), who is constantly trying to talk to me, get my sympathy, talk about her problems, constantly touches my arm, squeezes my shoulder, etc. She also constantly compliments me on my sense of humor, voice and how I am quiet (I'm not shy, I just don't talk much). She even tells her male friends about how they should try to be more like me. All this is nice, but not when it's coming from her, because I'm not interested in her in the slightest and I find her pretty annoying and desperate. This is grade 10, so none of us are very experienced with relationships or attracting the opposite sex. Maybe she's just not very good at it (yet), so she comes across as desperate.

So my questions are:
1. Does she like me or does she just see me as a friend (I guess she likes me, but the fact that she constantly wants my reassurance and sympathy sounds like something that a woman would want from a friend zoned male)?
2. How do I get her to stop bothering me, without being harsh?

1. A hunch she wants you as a boyfriend
2. Can not sit near her, find another girl to talk to, try getting her to like your friends instead, etc

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take
