Hello everybody, hope you all doing well!
Lately, I've been spending time around highly successful, accomplished individuals who achieved greatness in one or more fields and are totally masters of their crafts.
One trait I noticed they all share is that they have their own, well thought and open minded opinions about anything. You bring up any topic at the table and each one voices out his point of view and a mature discussion/debate follows and its incredible.
It also came to my attention that I do not possess this trait as much as they do. If you speak of issues like income inequality or the war in Syria, I'm like : "Yeah, I guess its sad for these people." And I can't say anything more about it!
Is there like some form of habit I can develop where I force myself to constantly think and form my own opinions? How can I have my own perspective of things? After a self analysis, I concluded that I tend just to accept whatever I hear and do not push the thinking any further. And I suppose the skill of being able to think critically is essential in college where you cannot possibly memorize your way to top grades.
Thanks,
James D
