How to interact with women in crowded areas?

Suppose you saw her waiting for a bus and the bus station was very busy (5-6 other people within a 1-metre radius of her), what would you do?

I found just approaching her like that makes her feel a bit nervous.
If you wait for her to get on the public transport, the situation is often worse.
When she leaves the public transport and you follow her out, you feel (and so probably look) like a creepy stalker.

Social circles are more my niche, so it's complicated getting this cold approaching right.

I've interacted with girls in bus stops only three times, but encountered the same situation when running errands.

For the bus stop, a direct opener (are you single?) gave the worst result, and indirect-direct the best. I gave a direct opener to a girl after waving to take earbuds off, got a strange look, and was left standing alone. The two indirect-direct openers did not startle either girl and got good conversations on the platform and the bus (I closed horrible and did not get numbers). I haven't tried situational openers yet. Chase recommends situational for close-quarters, this article's a real gem https://www.girlschase.com/content/when-use-direct-openers-versus-situational-openers.

I found just approaching her like that makes her feel a bit nervous.

I've always had the EXACT same reaction in crowded places when going direct. I started going indirect-direct to prevent the girl becoming startled in a crowd, but made sure to use the direct part fast. For example during X-Mas shopping, I was constantly interrupted on the transition from indirect to direct because someone from the crowd interrupted. After that, I made sure to spit the line faster. Here's my post on the situation: https://boards.girlschase.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4562.

Hope this helps!
