I'll probably write a detailed field report about this but for now here's a summary:
My friends and I met up with a group of girls who were part of the same WhatsApp group chat as us. I got there late but when I got there it seemed that the group was divided. The girls were socializing with each other and my friends (the two guys) were keeping their distance. This went on throughout the entire interaction. So I got there and since I was exhausted from my errands I couldn't think clearly and made plenty of faux pas.
Luckily most of them went unnoticed. (Or maybe I was too tired to notice them noticing me?)
Anyway, after leaving, the guys complained about how the girls aren't their type and how blah blah is too much for their blah blah.
Something tells me that they're just in auto rejection because the interaction was noticeably divided and they didn't achieve whatever goals they set out to. But then again they could be telling the truth. My question for future reference:
How could one socialize with the whole group even though there are groups within the group. How do you lead something like that? And it was clear that the two groups wanted an interaction but could only remain in their own group because of shyness and comfort zones. How could I allow them all to feel comfortable enough to speak to one another?
