Do you really have to make up for your youth and, let's call it, lower professional status?
Let's say you're a 27-year old guy with a college degree and only had a couple of not-very important jobs, while she's 34 and a successful professional with MBA etc..
How would you position yourself?
Would you try to do/say things that make up for your weak points or would you actually be comfortable with it and even cockily tease her about her being so high in the social scale.
In the past I would have tried to really put a lot of energy in showing her I have many other qualities, but nowadays I'd think you'd come across as a tryhard who's not really at peace with himself which might actually lower attraction and while the guy who communicates: "I am comfortable with my job/age/nationality/race/religion/whatever regardless of what you think" would actually come across as more attractive.
