Is girls mentioning other dates a test or qualification?

So there is a girl at work who I flirt with, and I think she might be interested in me.

The thing is, she often mentions that a guy who approached her is texting her, or she manages to put into conversation that she has a date that night. The conversation never goes beyond her mentioning it, so its not like she is complaining to me or asking me for advice.

Is she trying to qualify herself to me/testing me/trying to make me jealous? So far, I've haven't reacted to it much other than making a wry remark.
I've noticed this with other girls, so was interested if this is something normal?

I would keep it simple, simply assume attraction.

She's talking about dates with you, she is open to dating, and you think she might be interested in you.

Don't let the 'other guys' distract you, simply ask her out and totally ignore them. That shows her that you got some balls because you are not intimidated by other guys...

If she goes you win, you got a date.
If she doesn't go you win too - you don't have to worry about this girl, you don't have to analyze her responses and words because you already know that she's not interested in you. You just move on to next girl...
