Is humbleness attractive?

I would like to get peoples opinions, is being humble attractive. I ask this because I remember attracting 2 girls in a pool party once. I had gone to the pool party with a shirt on while the other guys were shirtless, at 1 point, the 2 girls started asking me to take my shirt off, and with a embarrassed smile I pulled my shirt half way up to show my six pack, I then explained that I don't really like to show off my abs and they responded by looking at each other and then commenting, "That's actually really impressive".
