Disclaimer: it's not about politics, let's leave the politics out and just judge the man's behaviour
I seem to often see in him a self-absorbed, high ego man always out to prove his ego and manhood by one-upping not just his political opponents, but sometimes even journalists, rather than raising the people around him and building bridges.
Examples:
1. Mocking Trump with the "Lion King" birth video

2. Laughing about republicans with "we better" jokes and quips

These seem go beyond gaining votes, it all seems to come down to him trying to being cooler and smarter.
I feel this behaviour shouldn't be coming from a man who's already in power.
In the first video, why does he even need to acknowledge the silliest accusations thrown at him?
It's like if Bush went out of his way to destroy the "dumb man image" the media had built around him. He's never even tried that even though those were far more painful for a person's ego.
While Obama has obviously got many fundamentals down after years in politics, he seems to me to endlessly keep trying to climb the ladder.
