Is the new forum a lot slower for anyone else?

Hey everyone, just logged in for the first time since the upgrade.

First of all, I want to say that I love the new design - it looks modern and clean! Thanks Chase and everyone else for all the hard work you've put in over the last few months.

But unfortunately I've noticed that pages seem to be loading a lot slower now - enough that it seems to be unusable. While I do live in Australia which is notorious for bad internet speeds (I'm currently at 24 mbps), I didn't have a problem with the previous forum - and I don't have a problem with any other sites which load quickly. I tested it online using https://tools.pingdom.com/ and the average web page size doesn't seem to be any larger than other sites which load fine.

Has anyone else noticed this?

STM-

I've asked our IT team to checked into this.

It loads fine for me. And Pingdom Tools says it's a 2-second load time to its Australia server. Which is not terribly awful.

So, I'm unsure why it's happening with you.

I'll see if Denis or Haseeb have any thoughts.

Just a quick update to this thread.

Old and new forum were both on the same server. So we're a little unsure why it'd be slower for you, STM. Denis (our systems administrator) could not think of a good reason for that. It's a little odd.

However, we've just put the Boards behind a cloud proxy and CDN. So hopefully that will speed up the site a bit for everyone in general.

If you're still seeing any issues, let me know and we can try to investigate it further.

I have experienced no delays. It operates the same as the old site. I have very fast Internet service and a modern high power computer. Could it be that you have old equipment or slow service? Sometimes the Internet can be slow locally because someone or multiple users in your area are eating a lot of bandwidth overloading a local piece of equipment.
