Jeans/ Jacket

Thinking about investing in a pair of black jeans.But I don't really have much to go with it. I normally wear a lot of nuetral colors like black and white and Grey. I really can't wear black jeans black shirt. I don't think. what kind of stuff do nomaly try to match with black jeans?

Also, I need a new jacket. I have a guess peacoat but I can't wear it every day. what types of places are good for jackets?

Hey Brum -

First rule of buying new clothes: don't buy anything that you can't really see yourself matching with anything else.

Black pants/jeans can go well with a lot in my opinion, but keep in mind that matching neutral colors (black, white, varying shades of grey) is more formal. Also, black on black can go together quite well, but like all things it's all about execution. I personally don't use them for anything besides weddings and funerals.

For everyday jackets, I would highly recommend military jackets. This is what I'm currently rocking. This particular manufacturer is online crowd-funded, so you have to pay up front then wait for 2-3 months to receive your product as they make it after it is funded. Thing is what you want may not always have a campaign running for you to fund.

Besides that, I also like J Crew's jackets, but they tend to be overpriced, so I'd wait for a sale on those if you could. Look for something like a mechanic's jacket.

If you like versatility, I recommend getting a navy blazer and getting it tailored to give you a real sleek fit. It is truly versatile and you can pair it with jeans, slacks, chinos. You can wear a T-shirt underneath to dress down the look, or throw on a button-down shirt or dress shirt with a tie if you're trying to up the ante.

It's not that I don't have stuff to match I just haven't been wearing it because in the winter I wear a lot less color. I found a pair at express that literally fit me so perfect and I have worn them 3 days in a row. My new favorite pair of pants

And I do like that mechanic jacket look but that pricing is absurd.

I have never worn a blazer without dress pants or a suit I'll have to look into tha kind of look.
