In JM, when the girl puts in effort, you reward her with SOIs/compliments. Essentially, you qualifying her, which gives you a good reason to escalate. In a way, you get her chasing you as well...but in a different way from GC. JM is boiled down as follows:
You prompt her to make the initial effort through the use of a vacuum. You ask her an interesting open-ended question, then pause. The uncomfortable silence (and your strong fundamentals) will get her to make the effort.
Note 1: I haven't been able to make this work online. Probably because the social pressure to fill in the silence of a vacuum doesn't exist online.
Note 2: This wouldn't work on me if I was a girl and I was not interested. When people try to use a vacuum on me, and I don't want to answer the question (or elaborate on the statement), I don't succumb and win the stare-down. That person needs to ask me a more specific question. Interviewers use the vacuum as well to get interviewees to talk more. I don't; I get the interviewer to ask specific questions.
------------------------------------
Examples:
HER: Blah blah blah.
YOU: I like your sense of humor. I'm John.
HER: Hi John. I'm Jane.
YOU: That’s crazy but I like a woman who takes chances. You’re on the frontier of hair science. I should color my hair to keep up with you. Is turquoise hard?
HER: Its easy. You just mix blue with green.
YOU: I like how you twist your hair when you say that. Let's go sit down over there, away from the crowd, so you can tell me more. (Knowing when to reward and when to ask for more is an art onto itself and something that you can only get a feeling for with experience.)
HER: My name is Helga.
YOU: Wow, we have a lot in common. My name also starts with an H. (In this case you may want to keep the vacuum and ask for a bit more.)
Here's one I just used:
HER: Blah blah blah
YOU: You're very sweet. I think I'm starting to like you.

Do you guys do this type of stuff? I'm curious how much overlap/conflict there is between JM and GC. I've been doing the qualifying together with GC, but hope that isn't a conflict.
- You prompt her to make an effort.
- She makes the effort.
- You reward her with your intent.
- You move the relationship further towards a sexual or romantic outcome.
- Repeat.
