I'll try to keep it short.

I attend various social events. One I go often to in my town is a food tasting event.

Went the first time 3 weeks ago. Talked to a blonde girl with nice boobs and lovely face, she was very invested. After a while we stop talking. Then another girl (hot slim body) approaches me and we talk for a while alone. Before I leave, I say by to the blonde and to a couple of other people.

Attend the second time on Sunday. First I talk to a bunch of people, including one girl. Then I meet the blonde again. We talked alone for 2 hours. Sometimes completely separate from the group, sometimes with the others around. It's getting late and we are the only two ones left at the event.

We walk together towards the bus station (we need to take two different buses). I try to kiss her, she moves her face, but then looks at me with loving eyes, the I try again and I kiss her. We talk a bit more. I kiss her again before she takes the bus. I also tried to "walk her home" with the excuse that it was late and I was worried something would happen to her but she politely declined twice.

I text her the day after saying we should go for drinks. She says "sure but just so you know yesterday things escalated too quickly so we should take a couple of steps back".

I am really undecided on how to reply to this.

Saying "yes sure" and setting the date, and then ignoring this completely on the date?
Texting something else?

What would you guys do?

I wouldn't want to miss the opportunity to tease her a bit and make a bit of fun (like framing it all as her fault), otherwise there's a risk of the vibe getting too unsexual and her having the frame of being able to close me down whenever she wants.

Like the great Zan says you should never defend yourself from women, instead tease and joke and confuse them and get them all stirred up.

What I do is to purposely delay the sex In this type of cases... his problem seems he over gamed..
