Quick update, folks.
If you've noticed a lot of sluggishness / downtime recently, my apologies. This came to a crescendo yesterday / today, and I, our host, and our developer spent the last 20 hours working on this (been a long day for all of us).
We figured out a couple of tables in the database had ballooned to gargantuan proportions and were slowing the site down. We also discovered that the update we made to the paywall module was double-loading the site every time anyone opened a page. So we truncated the two massive tables, turned off one of the modules associated with the worst of the big tables, and corrected the paywall double-loading problem.
Site is now loading a lot faster than it's loaded in a long time. And now that we know what the sources of the lags / downtime were, and have more or less permanently fixed them, we shouldn't run into that again.
Meantime, we're working on optimizing MySQL on the backend, and we'll be doing other things to optimize the site. So, if anything, Girls Chase should get even faster, and we'll hopefully have little or no downtime going forward.
Anyway, thanks for bearing with us through the hiccups. The team and I are working to provide you as streamlined an experience as possible!
