Let her chase?

Texting this girl, attempted a date setup, she lied and said she doesn't know when she'll be free. I switched topics, then promptly ended the conversation by not replying. She texted me back the next day saying:

Her: Hey
Me: Wassup
Her: Make me laugh
Me: youtube link to a funny video (I wasn't going to actually invest effort into making her laugh through some silly text banter)
Her: I'm at my sisters house
I No Replied her after this (I had no clue what context her response was in, and I don't have time to entertain lame ass responses like that, or boring conversations)

Her replies are always instant, and I vary mine, but I'm actually busy with shit, so my response times tend to be longer in duration. I know I'm not supposed to be her text buddy, or give her anything she wants through texting, texting is just a medium for setting up dates. My question is, should I just keep letting her initiate contact? Or when should I attempt another date request?

When she initiates contact is an excellent time to set up a date, because she's been thinking about you and got in touch. You also have to keep in mind that sometimes for women texting first is big sign of interest, and she's putting herself out there waiting for you to make a move.

In your case when she said make me laugh you could have turned it to your advantage and asked her to meet you.
