HAAHA that's fucking hilarious. So basically he thought by showboating his income and showering her with materialistic bullshit that he'd get the thumbs up to marry her. That's just what the action/gesture itself "speaks" to me.

Shit should've spent 99 dollars on Chases Ebook/subscription to GC... oh well.

I feel for this guy, he simply didn't know better and most likely bought into the social conditioning narrative we're all force fed from a young age via media, Disney movies, etc.

Not that I'm super disconnected from social conditioning I just have a minuscule awareness of this.
