So I'm in my college's Democrat Club and there is a girl there I thought was into me. After one meeting as I was leaving, she stopped me and walked along with me to talk to me. I did some deep diving and qualifying (I think at least) and then we had to part ways. I knew I'd meet her at the next meeting though. I was sure she was sneaking glances at me and smiling at me. So after the next meeting, she walks up to me again and we talk about how she's planning to run for club president which I deep dive on her wanting to make change. Towards the end, I ask her out but then she tells me she has a boyfriend. I'm pretty sure I acted cool and casual about it. So, did I misread her signs? I figured that if any girl went out of her way to talk to me she must be into me. I guess not and she was just being friendly. I can never tell the difference between genuine interest and just being nice. Any feedback would be appreciated since I don't want to make the same mistake again.
