Anyone got any good ideas on a good "date" spot to hit and talk before you go to the theater? I was thinking about hitting up a nearby smoothie place, chatting over a smoothie for a cpl hours (we can chat so much, thats how much we click) and then hitting the late night show. Any input?

For the record, no I don't have my own place yet and we cannot go back to my place for the movie ;p

Others may have other tactics here but if I am doing a movie date I tend to pick the early show and then go somewhere after.

I figure that the movie is a good starter, you'll have a little chat before hand, then, relax, see the movie and when you come out suggest "Hey, it's still early, lets grab a drink"... or even bring her back to yours.
If you do the movie first, I always feel that whatever progress you've made up to then is now lost when you go and sit in silence for 2 hours. Then being the late show, the expectation is that once it's over, the date is over... it doesn't have to be of course but why make it more difficult.

That's usually my thoughts on these types of dates. But I'd like to hear what others think.

I like this, a lot, Estate. I dont get off work til 7 P.M., so we could see an 8 o clock movie at the earliest, finish up about 10. Trying to figure out if it would be viable to grab a drink at that point in the night, considering it being kind of late on a thursday, if things would still be open etc. I'll have some thinking to do.

I guess it depends on the city but 10pm isn't too late.
Like I would suggest "1 drink" at that time.

Alternatively if it was doable, you could see a movie close to your place and see if you could get her back to yours afterwards... If your feeling bold enough that is an option.

I think finishing the movie at 10pm is good, its later in the night but not so late that it's unreasonable to suggest something else afterwards.

I've had luck with similar dates... e.g., coffee shop first, then movie or comedy show after... physically escalate during the movie / show and get her comfortable excited... take her home afterward. Straightforward. Haven't used this model in a long time as it's a bit too inefficient for my tastes these days, but it can work.

If you don't have your place, I'd plan other logistics out - e.g., car, her place, etc.
