Movie Question: Flick Where Girl Does Lots of Stuff for Guy?

Hey fellas,

I'm drafting up some content for my new video program (hopefully out before year's end... I'd like to start alpha-testing with it September or October, but it may not be far enough along by then yet).

I'm at a point where I'm trying to include movie references to illustrate certain points in additional dimensions, but nothing's springing to mind for this one.

So, question: can anyone tell me a movie with a male protagonist who has a lover who's just doing all this stuff for him? Basically looking for a good movie example of a girl who's investing a lot and really into the guy. Popular movies are best, but obscure ones are okay too if there's a really good one that illustrates this perfectly.

If you know a flick or a scene like this, do share - would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Chase,

Not sure quite the exact context you mean (and there sure are a million more examples of pussed out guys on the other end), but I can try and recall a few.

X men origins wolverine (2009) and The Wolverine (2013) I think were two movies where Wolverine’s love interests in both films ended up being pretty feminine and nurturing (the latter film takes place in Japan so I suppose that is more fitting). They took care of him, sort of helped him with a lot and did a lot for him. It’s interesting, because I think Hugh Jackman isn’t quite your typical lover type in real life or that much in either of those films, but being the byronic tough guy in a lot of trouble and pain in both films kind of nets him nurturing women who cater to him nicely and fit the plotline fine.

I can think of other lesser examples, but think the above two were the most decent ones that just immediately come to my mind. There are probably better examples out there; and I certainly haven’t watched many movies in my life. Interested to see what others suggest though.

also, new product? What will be covered?

This'll be a new flagship 30- to 40-hour video interview course where I'll be summing up all the best stuff from the articles + the book + about 10% to 15% totally new stuff / perspectives / tech. It's been a pretty big undertaking just trying to get all the information organized and prioritizing what goes in and where it goes, but it's coming along.

Some of the new stuff I'll likely cover / stuff I haven't discussed in-depth previously:

  • How to adjust vibe for different approach scenarios (street stop vs. café conversation vs. girl you're talking to in a bar, etc.)
  • More signs it's time to escalate to the next step (how to tell when an escalation window is open)
  • Probably the biggest undiscussed reasons women resist sex with a guy even if they like him
  • How to tell if a girl is in 'safety-net construction' mode (and more likely to be a waste of time pursuing) or not
  • A discussion of the female search for excitement/novelty and how to use this in seductions/relationships
  • Using self-deprecating humor thoroughly and well (and what kinds of girls to use it with and which kinds not)
  • How men decide who's won an argument vs. how women decide who's won it
  • A few easy tricks to get really strong sexual intent / get yourself into a highly sexual mindset
  • Tiny and unexpected signs women will give you that are big openings to move forward
  • How to incorporate 'inappropriate' touch (breasts, butt, pussy, etc.) into conversations (and when to use it vs. when not to)
  • Little status 'micro details' and how small things you say can have big ripples in how a woman views you
  • Why it usually goes nowhere with women who have multiple competing objectives with you and how to make them pick one
  • Dealing with girls who aren't brushing you off but are being super disinterested/aloof
  • Dealing with (and recognizing) girls who appear to be harshly rejecting you but actually want you to chase

... stuff like that.

Goal with the program is to make it something a newbie can pick up and get all the most important stuff from right away and get rolling with, but also be something that'll still have new things to offer for guys who've been around the block a few times.

Anyway, we'll finish up the questions list hopefully this month and then start shooting. I'll update the boards when we've got more details - once we have the first modules complete I'll probably start looking for guys to go through the program and the new site we'll have set up for it as test users / to find anything wonky or broken / etc.

Dark Passage (1947).

- Irene Jansen, who had been painting nearby, picks up Parry and smuggles him past a police roadblock into San Francisco, offering him shelter in her apartment.
- She believes that Parry is innocent.
- He stumbles back to Irene's house, collapsing at her doorstep. Irene nurses him back to health.
- After his bandages are removed, Parry reluctantly parts from Irene, declaring that she will be better off if she is not part of his life.
- Knowing he cannot prove his innocence, Parry has no choice but to flee. He intends to get to Mexico and then South America. He phones Irene, revealing his plans. The next time he is seen, Parry is having a drink in a nightclub in Peru when he spots Irene across the dance floor. They embrace.

So... he escapes from prison as a wrongfully accused murderer, she rescues him from the street, hides him out in her apartment, lies to her friends to cover for him, nurses him back to health, then she leaves her entire life behind to be with him in South America.

Interesting.

How would you say your current product line up stands VS this new thing coming out, especially the "spellbinding" one?

I was thinking of buying the "conversationalist" package indeed, but since I won't have much time for a few months ahead it might make sense to wait for this new product... If conversation is also well covered?

Thanks!

mb1 and Kaelos, thanks for the further viewing suggestions. I'll check them out.

Lux, my aim with the new product is to have something big, comprehensive, and extremely thorough. It's essentially aimed at being a How to Make Girls Chase in video/course format instead of an eBook, only covering the most important stuff from the articles plus new stuff the book didn't cover.

It'll be significantly different from Spellbinding; one, because that one's focused on conversation, where this one will not be; two, because that one was rushed into production at the urging of the consultant I was working with at the time, so much of it is off-the-cuff and lighter on details for guys who are already familiar with my conversation stuff from articles. I've tried to correct this in more recent versions of Spellbinding by adding in bonus books on chase framing and conversation scripts that go a lot deeper and cover stuff not covered in articles or the ebook, but eventually I'd like to do that one from scratch again and have it properly planned out, since there's a lot more we can do with conversation than what we accomplished with Spellbinding 1.0.

Oh for goodness sake, is that all you folk can say?

I think that Hank guy is a bad example to learn from. One simple reason; he doesn't even approach women (& yes I get the idea of how not to chase), but in reality no matter how cool you are, girls just won't come chasing after you like that. If they did, then it'd be a lot easier to play you're card right. It seems that if women didn't approach him, he'd still be a virgin!

A good example I think would be the lead male character in "The Last Seduction". Ultimately this character has many flaws and wouldn't be a great role model, yet somehow I think there might be a thing or two to learn from him.
