Decided to meet up with a buddy at a club that played house music in order to get some social momentum going for the night. Got there around 11 and I had a little buzz going. I go up to the bar and notice a cute shorter girl standing at the bar by herself. Without hesitation I asked her what drink she was getting and she didn’t reply. The music was kind of loud so I asked her again and she still didn’t look at me so I figured she was just ignoring me lmao. It honestly didn’t bother me at all.
Anyways me and my buddy go to the main dance floor and I’m just enjoying myself and scoping out the scene. Maybe about 5-6 attractive women total with about 1 or 2 women not talking to any guys. Anyways while I’m dancing in comes this sexy chick with her friends and we immediately lock eye contact and I hold it while she’s walking towards me. After maintaining eye contact for like 2-3 seconds I put out my hand for her to high five and bring her in and give her a hug. While hugging her I quickly realize it’s this chick I used to talk with when I was younger and she was into me at the time haha. Anyways I knew she had a boyfriend so we only talk for a minute before parting ways. Also as a side note It’s honestly kind of nice to have someone there to talk with as I didn’t feel out of place at all/self conscious like I did before.
It’s now around 12:15 and I decide to go to the bar again and get a drink. There’s another shorter girl who’s like a 6/10 standing by herself or with her friend. I again just chill and ask what drink she’s getting. She tells me and I kinda sense she’s not that interested. Maybe next time I should just plow through and ask her a couple more questions. Anyways it’s about 12:30 and I tell my friend I’m going to dip and head to a different bar.
I get to the said bar and tell this lady who appears to be friends with the person handling cover that I like her nose ring. She responds positively and when I go downstairs to the bar she comes up next to me and orders a drink. I chat with her a bit and quickly realize she’s not my type. Anyways after she leaves two pretty attractive girls come up to the bar next to me and say “you better tip the bartender” and I tell them I’m in the process of doing so. One of the women who was very drunk then proceeds to try to grab my money out of my hand and I’m like “wtf”, so I tell her to go away and she ends up leaving lmao. I honestly decided to just laugh it off because it just looked trashy on her part. Anyways within a couple of seconds of them leaving a chill guy that was from a different country comes up to the bar next to me and asks what I’m getting. We talk for a bit and then I decide to just call it a night and leave after being tired and not seeing any sets to approach.
Overall and for future reference, I think the next time I go out I’ll talk to 3-4 people before hand by asking them questions, and then once I get into the venue, I’ll post up by the bar area and talk to the people around me. I feel like this “strategy” will allow me to be social but at the same time not require a ton of effort.
