After Drexelscott's piece on the blog about NLP, I began to become a bit more interested in it.

Right now, I feel that my stories and speech quite often lack words of emotion (ex. anticipation, joy, surprised).

I am working on becoming a better story teller, or at least more a bit more eloquent. I think incorporating these emotions into my stories would take them from being so sterile and textbook, to being alive and colorful. I want to make people feel wonderful and inspired.

I already use metaphors very often and naturally so, perhaps this here is the last piece, or at least significant piece, to my puzzle.

I already did a few searches (half-assed as they may have been) and did not turn up many leads.

I'd like to hear any thoughts, examples or resources on this!

:)

J,

A small note here, but one thing that might help is looking at yourself in the mirror when you tell the story. Watch your facial expressions -- are they changing constantly with the flow of the story? Or are they mundane?

A great story teller knows how to keep you intrigued just by using the correct facial gestures while telling the story. It lets the listener know what type of emotions he or she should be feeling.

Just a tip!

Franco,

Love this piece of advice. Seeing how much I can use body language to communicate is a favorite of mine.

This is something I'm looking forward to try out and I'm glad you mentioned something critical I was over looking!

Thanks,

-Wicks
