I have come across this technique being used which the guys called 'open looping'
It basically involves creating curiosity to make the girl chase.
The lines used are as follows.
1) You :- You know what they say about girls from (whichever country the girl is from)?
Girl :- What?
You :- My ex was from (girl's country) and she said it's always true.
Girl :- What is it?
You :- How could you not know OMG?
Girl :- Tell me
You :- Maybe I shouldn't tell you, I want to find it out myself. / Don't worry it's not really important.
(Now the girl is hooked and you can ask qualifying questions)
2) You look very different to the girls from where I am from.
3) I am very curious about something.
This seems to be in line with girls chase posts that tell the importance of curiosity.
