Hi all!
Simple enough question.

How do You do pick-up in long-distance transportation? e.g. bus, train, etc.
By long distance I mean more than an hour. Like a two hour train trip.

I am literally on a train while posting this. There is a girl sitting against me. She is quite hot. Perhaps not my taste for LTR but perfect for some casual fun. Physically hot but not that interesting. Not flat-out boring either. Just the kind you can have casual sex with and not get attached.

I got on the train 30 minutes ago and instantly noticed her. Sat down against her and had some banter with the ticket lady before sitting down. Started talking to the girl immediately. Small talk, bla-bla-bla. Same university and all that. She copied my body language. Enough interest to work with I think.

It is kind of hard to move her. Train is full and it wouldn't make any sense even if it wasn't. For me it also seems a little weird for sex talk. There's a mother with her daughter sitting next to us:)
Also seems a little awkward asking her out right away and then sitting there for hour and a half. And I don't think I can keep up the conversation going non-stop.

I am going to try asking her for casual dinner once we arrive since I am grabbing food anyway. But my gut feeling tells me it's gonna be a no-no.

Ideas?

P.S. I've had this happen to me couple of times before and I hate that helpless feeling.

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

Anyone?

I discussed it with a friend yesterday and we came up with the following idea:

Check her out once when sitting down. Only once. Ignore her completely for most of the trip. Like there was completely random person next to you and not the hot girl. Find an excuse to talk to her about 20 minutes to destination. Get into talking and ask her out on a way out or ask for a number.

For an excuse we were leaning towards: "Hey, excuse me, my battery is dead, can I use Your phone for a sec to call my friend/xyz person, because ... (valid reasons to use her phone)". Her refusing would be rude and her accepting would be compliance.

Your thoughts?
