Was on the way home from a night out, bumped into this girl and we got chatting briefly and ended up going part way home in the same direction. While we were alone I asked if she was single. She said she was kinda, I said "kinda" and she said she said "she could do better". She ended up getting my number because I think she wasn't sure that I'd be able to get to her since her phone is from out of the country.
So 2 days later I got this text
"[my name]!!!! LOL (in joke) Hmm it doesn't give me the iMessage option (yet). From bus girl: [her name]"
I replied promptish saying hi and asking if she got home ok. I made a quick joke that this was "probably going to cost me £1 a text! Haha."
No reply for a little over a day now.
I guess the general question I have out of the back of this, regardless of whether she does get back to me at some point or not, is how quickly with the early texts do you get into arranging your first date. Would you even do what I did which was an attempt to build rapport? If the convo had carried on I'd have asked her out on my next reply.
In this case when would you follow up again and how?
