Re-engaging women who flaked on you

I know it's more efficient to just find new women, but I don't see why it doesn't hurt to try to get these women for a date again. In fact, I was able to do this quite a few times because their flaking was due to genuinely being busy, getting sick, etc. Some of the excuses, however, are pretty obviously fake (but I appreciate their gesture to be polite, ha). Any advice on how to re-engage? Some of these flakes are just days ago...some are weeks ago. I understand that it's difficult to re-ignite that spark over text, but I'm all ears...um, eyes...here.
