Hey guys,
I just wanted to share some recent openers that I've enjoyed trying out. Of course, there are pros and cons to each.
Any recent openers you've enjoyed?
Older lady to get past the age barrier
*Direct opener*
*Something related to college/major/age*
*Direct question on age*
*Sentence with subtext that I'm okay with older women*
Example:
Me: "Love that jewelry -- its vibrant intricacies make your natural beauty shine."
Her: "Oh, thanks! (Blah.)"
Me: "Are you an art major?"
Her: "Haha, no. How old do you think I am?"
Me: "Well, old enough to be in college I guess
How old are you?"
Her: "You know that you're not supposed to ask a women's age, right?"
Me: "That's why I enjoy doing it. It's like forbidden fruit."
Group of girls
I stole this from my friend, and it was in my most recent FR.
Me: "Excuse me ladies... which one of you do you think that I'm attracted to?"
I actually don't mind using "excuse me" here because then you immediately change it to them trying to chase you. If you get some pre-opening or have caught a few of them glancing over, it gets pretty good.
This has obvious cons, like coming off as needy or indirect/unaggressive and trying to make the girl "make the move" when girls don't do that (usually a girl will say some other girl in the group; if no one says anything, just say who and start talking with them). However, I've enjoyed it a lot because it's so easy to do with a group of women, while I find approaching just 1 girl in a group of women and telling her that she's pretty (with all of her other friends silent and watching) to be harder (and a little awkward).
Waitress
Again, I stole this from my friend. It's just too good! Haha.
*Create some repartee/rapport*
*After she brings back checks, get the girl on your side of the table*
Me: "Listen... I find you attractive, and I think that there may be something here. But, because I don't want to create any pressure and because I love mystery, when you go to swipe our credit cards, just write down your number on the receipt.... or not. It's up to you."
Again, same cons as coming off as weak/unaggressive. But, if you have built up a connection and say it casually/calmly, it comes off pretty smooth.
Just an update on the openers I've been trying out.
