I guess we all know what kind of media I am talking about here, James Bond kind of stuff.

Where the main guy has more important things to focus on than women and treats them without "pedestalising" them.

I recently started watching "Friends" but couldn't take the guys hesitating so much in asking out women or being so afraid of talking to one and so I dropped it. Another comedy that worked out was "How I Met Your Mother" because of the character Barney, mostly. God do I love that guy!

So, recommend me some of those. I would love it if it's comedy, but mostly anything will work.

I plan on watching most of the James Bond movies in the coming month, might as well watch something more!

Lastly, It's not that I am chasing women and not getting anywhere with them, I have that part handled already, but being a little more badass won't hurt, will it? ;)

Californication is definitely one of my all time favs, plus the it's entertaining as hell and has great dialogue. The first two seasons are the best though, they ran out of ideas after that. Start with season 1 episode 1.

Hey suave, I just ran across these californication clips tonight.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zorEMHb3o0Y

I remember watching these exact clips before I even cared about pick up or had found girls chase. I remember how badly I wanted to be this guy after watching these clips. So I started watching the show and I think it actually helped me quite a bit with my attitude towards women even though I hadn't had much experience yet. Then I found GC and the rest is history:)

Thanks for the reply. I am late, sorry.

I watched 2 seasons and still ongoing. True shit! Mr. Moody is amazing!

Also, I think when you're trying to pick up these little personality traits and add to your own, you automatically do it, you don't feel it, you just adopt them! I find myself replying to some chick about something or just being "devil may care" in ways that even I don't believe! It's so good!

I'd say, "You are the media you consume!"

It' definitely a good example of a series for getting girls off the pedestal, but it never shows Hank as the initiator. And I think it's not realistic in most cases to have the woman be the initiator. He plays the women well; but then again that shouldn't be too hard giving that they're the ones chasing.

And I don't think it's realistic that women would chat up a man like Hank as much as they do in the show! If women didn't chat up Hank, he'd be a very DRY man!

I watched the first season, and I'm afraid I didn't enjoy it.

If we're talking talking flaws thwn yep, that is one huge flaw. In fact, he literally walks away from girls! (The girl at the departmental store/Porsche showroom).

Also, he chases after Karen way too hard, ecen though she just keeps screwing it up again and again.

The first 5 episodes are the best I guess.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

He had to buy a porche to get her though!

I remember it actually annoyed me a bit a times. Because the ways in which he got with girls weren't realistic. No car dealership lady would try and seduce a buyer. It just rubbed in the fact that I had a difficult time seducing girls, let alone the idea of girls seducing me.

I really like "Dexter", this guy rocks. Totally disconnected with reality of 'normal' people, pretends to be "Nice Guy" yet he manages to nail good looking women without even trying.

I would definitely recommend to watch his interaction with his wife Rita as the story progresses to series 3 and 4, there is lots of scenes what NOT to do as a (nice) guy. Rita represents classical bitchy, entitled and manipulative western woman pushing guilt upon Dexter, while he remains appologetic "nice guy" as he needs her as a cover for his deeds... If you are not getting nauseas by watching Rita's behavior, you are still putting women on pedestals...

Since I'm basing it that you want to take them off the pedestal and not learn to game them go for these movies. But beware that watching these may make you go over on the opposite end of the spectrum of idolizing to literally being disgusted at all levels, and you may have to recalibrate yourself.

- Gone Girl (You will hate women when you see what this one is capable of).
- American Beauty
- 5x2
