Here's a handy tip if you want to travel and go everywhere at once for relatively cheap: get a 'round the world' ticket.
You can choose where you want to go (you could plan an itinerary like America then London then Shanghai then Sydney before back to America for somewhere around $2800), and you get to choose the dates. You also get to choose any which city you'd like in any of those continents.

There's no faster way to eye so many polar opposite cultures in such a short time period - I recommend it for the adventure curious here.
