Hey guys, I'm in a little bit of a bind here. I'll give you some background info on the situation.
Basically last Saturday we had a homecoming party and my date got drunk, really sick, and basically passed out (but she was at least semi-conscious for the whole time). So nothing actually happened between us, but I did spend the whole time with her (while she was really sick). Now some rumors are being spread around school about us, I don't know how many people have heard it but a few friends have asked me if I hooked up with my date. Now I'm not one to lie and I wouldn't be telling anyone what we did if we did hook up, so everyone that has asked me about it I have told them the truth that we didn't hook up. I just don't want these rumors to get to my date and have her think that I'm a liar and not discrete.
So what do you guys think I should do? I'm not sure if my date has heard these rumors, but I think I should talk to her about it. Maybe I can turn this into an advantage, showing how I am discrete and non-judgemental (so she knows I didn't say anything and will not in the future if/when we do hook up), and creating an us vs. them mindset? I just don't really know what to do, especially because I'm not exactly sure what she remembers from that night. I have a few options I'm thinking of: let it slide until Friday night (where we are both going to another party) and hook up with her there, text her tonight asking what she remembers and explaining what the rumors are all about, or basically do the same thing but in person tomorrow at school so I can actually talk to her face to face and improve our relationship. But if she hasn't heard any of the rumors, I don't want to make it extremely awkward by bringing them up if she doesn't know what I'm talking about.
Any advice? I'm probably leaning toward not saying anything or talking to her in person, but I'm not sure. What do you think I should do/say? Thanks.
