[Short] “Feeling out” like girls do: is it masculine or feminine?

Girls usually “ping” guys, especially on apps like instagram, by liking a guys picture and seeing if he follows back or likes one of their own pictures. This is done to get a feel for his interest.

Would if be feminine if a man were to do this same thing to a woman to gauge her interest level (ex: liking her pic, and seeing if she responds by liking his pic back)?

My intuition says that it would probably frame the man as undecisive or unconfident.
Though on the other hand, it could also be seen as smooth, socially savvy, and low pressure.

You run the chance of being perceived indecisive by some girls but most of them are just running on automatic on these apps and won’t probably think too much about it.

Keep in mind that you are going to be one of many guys doing stuff like that so don’t expect a high response rate.
But overall it’s a decent non-commit al option.

I'll drop likes just for appreciation/positivity, sometimes with a lil encouraging comment like "you go girl" etc...

Does seem to build a little IG network of girls liking my pics back...positive social proof?

But I don't read into it much, because as @uriel said most girls are running on autopilot lol.

(Sometimes it can help bring old FBs back cuz seeing your pics keeps you in their head. But if you fucked them well enough they should be thinkin bout you regardless

Then I just reply to a story

Sometimes I can like a recent story or a recent post IF and ONLY IF I don’t know what to reply to their story. It’s like playing hard to get and it’s even more powerful if she likes your posts/stories

I noticed sometimes it’s good not to text immediately after you receive interest (wait a few days or a week or two) so she perceives you as a guy with lots of options who doesn’t gaf if she shows interest because that’s what lots of other girls do..
