I've noticed that women will often put themselves in your vicinity but be on their phone, have their back to you, and absolutely refuse to make eye contact. At first I thought I was just being egotistical and imaging things, but they'll often linger and then get up and move away having had no discernable reason for having been close. Add the fact that, for safety reasons, a woman will not voluntarily place herself near a man she doesn't have some interest or relationship with, and it leads me to believe a lot of women are just petrified of showing any interest and don't really know how to flirt.

Any thoughts or observations around this?
