Hey guys, I was looking at some data about the international gun trade and how the profits made by weapon companies surely won't go down anytime soon... It got me thinking, wouldn't it be profitable to invest in stocks from different weapons companies, especially those that have no transparency whatsoever about who they sell their guns to? I know it's immoral, but I kinda don't care. Then, I realized that alcohol, gambling, tobacco, and now marijuana could also be "immoral sectors" worth looking into. What's your take on it?

Just because it's immoral doesn't mean it's profitable. If you believe the sector itself will skyrocket according to your theory, go ahead and buy an ETF of vice stocks, but thinking you have an advantage because you're willing to be immoral is foolish. I've been in Wall Street, don't ever think you can compete against them when it comes to information and lack of morals. There is also a lack of transparency as you mention regarding the revenue sources. Not much upside, if any, and many downsides compared to other industries. I'd say only go for it if you really believe this sector will prosper later, unless you're an insider in these sort of activities too, which I doubt.
