Site Comments gone?

I've been noticing lately the comment count has dropped significantly. From 200,000 or 300,000, to now 69k.
What happened?

That number seems right (around 69K comments). That's where it should be.

I don't know why you might've seen 200K or 300K comments, but shouldn't have been that high ever!

No, we haven't deleted any comments. That number's where it should be by now. I remember when it passed 25,000 or so a few years back; if it somehow went from there to 200,000 or higher we'd need to be doing 10x the number of comments per day we're actually doing.
