A Female friend (32 year old) I've gotten to know through our professional society had just moved back to the area. She mentioned on Facebook that a local brewery was hosting a concert by a singer I enjoy. I called my friend who works for the brewery and got she, and her father on the free guest list along with me. We met up and her 70 year old father thanked me and bought me a beer, then went and staked out a spot on the lawn with folding chairs. I had no intention of gaming this girl.
While they were watching the opening act I walked around and chatted with folks. Both strangers and people I knew. I chatted up an older busty lady in a flattering bustier type top. Purely conversational. I asked her about her line of work which was ladies retro fashion. I think my line was "are you a model or a retailer?" She saw my wedding band and point blank asked if I was married. I took full ownership of it. I told her maybe my wife would be interested in her products and she gave me her card. Her female friend sidled up and they went on to a different part of the venue. Remember my whole MO was simply to be social, not game.
I chatted with the opening act and another one of the brewery employees. She (the brewery employee) was an attractive 30 year old with radiant red dyed hair. We had talked before at the taproom, and I realized she was just naturally talkative as a part of her job. She didn't show any sign of attraction, or memory of our previous conversation at that point. The lady selling merchandise gave me some flirty eye contact but was distracted by making sales. I left her to her work, my mood buoyed by her slight attention.
When the headliner came on I watched and chatted with my guests. Toward the end I left them to go into the standing crowd to get a cell phone picture for Facebook. While I was standing there an early 50's blonde woman (Party Girl) slid up alongside, dancing and approached me. We exchanged names and talked about work. The concert ended and she said something about meeting up with her friends. I playfully asked "what if I never see you again?", just to see if I could get her number. At that point she initiated a kiss, and a passionate one at that. I played along for a few minutes. As the crowd dispersed I mentioned I wasn't too big on PDA and we were a little too exposed. She then clumsily entered her number in my phone, and I saw she actually was quite inebriated. She commented I was her son's age, and I deflected it.
I received a text from my friend saying she and her father were headed home right about then. I considered asking Party Girl to ditch her friends and head down the street to a Motel 6. After seeing her being quite loud and generally obnoxious amongst her group, I decided against it. She lived 45 minutes away, and I didn't want to chance her getting sick or blackout drunk.
Upon returning home I sent her a text checking up that she made it home ok. She replied that she was hurting from the hangover. Later, I put her cell # into Facebook search and determined her ex husband was someone my family and my business had a second degree business relationship with. This immediately disqualified her from any shenanigans on my part. The next week she texted me a picture of herself and her friends having cocktails. I think she was trolling for a picture of me to determine if she had beer goggles that night. I sent back a picture of one of the brewery's beers, and deleted her number.
Take aways:
Cougars can be quite forward and prone to acting out especially post divorce or break up.
Receptive women can come out of anywhere. Don't be afraid to experiment with these "lob-balls". This was the second woman I'd ever asked for her phone number.
This concert was not necessarily my kind of crowd if I was looking to actively pick up. However it opened up my eyes to other demographics for potential lays.
Beer and food makes conversation easier. I was definitely warmed up when the opportunity to escalate arrived.
I also determined I could do an Online reservation for a Motel 6 room in about 5 minutes on my phone. Good info if I ever have occasion to pull from that location or the gym or sports bar across the street....
