Smoothly getting a girl to give you her name AGAIN after you have forgotten?

So guys, I've been having a situation lately where I tend to forget names. Oh well, less attention on my part. Gotta be more attentive!

But anyway, so how do you get a girl to give you her name once again, without letting her actually know that you forgot her name during the following 2 situations:

1. After a minute or two of getting her to say the name, when you realize that you no longer remember it?
2. Having number closed, and realizing that you totally forgot what name to save her number with?

The second situation is what I'm dealing with at the moment, and I've sent "What is the correct way of spelling your first name?" after getting 2 other unrelated replies from her. Waiting to see what happens!

Masters of the game, what do you suggest?

After a girls has revealed her name to me i try and repeat her name to her in a sentence cause girls (im not sure why) like hearing say their name.

plus it helps keep there name in your memory for a longer period of time

I can help you with the first scenario

Precisely last night i had a situation like this and when it happens to me i wait for an oportunity to steer the conversation so you make her saying it again but for other reason not because you forgot.

Here is what i came up with last night:

We were well into the conversation and i needed to start closing it and asking for her number and like you i totally forgot her name, since it was saturday and we were at a party and she was going to a night club, i guided her to the topic of going out and other guys aproaching her.

Her: gets a message and tells me she needed to go in a couple of minutes because her friends were expecting her
Me: So do you go out often to night clubs? im sure you get hit a lot? (playful gesture like im just teasing her a bit but i dont really care if she does or not)
Her: Yes (smiling), and i almost never go to night clubs because im tired of guys aproaching me over and over when im out with my friends trying to have fun
Me; yeah i know what you mean, also ive been hearing a lot lately that guys get angry with girls if they dont want to talk to them, no matter how polite they are
Her; exactly! like they dont realise ive been aproached that way 10 times already
Me: laughing, let me guess (start making a funny role playing) "hello whats your name hotstuff"
Her: i look at her keeping my character until she replies with her name laughing
Me: out of character, "you just got your first lousy aproach tonight", laugh with her while putting my hand around her and she moves towards me, etc.

Then Finished the conversation and asked for her number and got out in one piece.


In your particular case which is a lot more dificult, doesnt she have a social network app where her name or nickname appears? line, whatsapp, etc. If she doesnt, maybe you can send a simple text with your name and maybe asking how she likes to be called because you forgot to ask, etc. I dont know in your country but girls here are always called by a nickname (jess instead of jessica for example) so at least here it would be a valid question to ask because it shows you want to address her how she likes to be addressed. Or you could be honest about it in a brief and charming way and see what happens, it worked for me a couple of times in conversations but never tried it through texting.
