Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm in high school and I don't really hang out with anyone. This is mostly because of my interests; i really love lifting and distance running. Because I don't hang out with anyone I fear this is inhibiting my ability to pick up women. I don't really share common interests with them because almost no one in my school lifts, especially girls and I am also shy. So I am hoping maybe you guys can give me some tips on how to hang out with the popular people in my school and get connected with them so I can talk to women more often and improve my game. I know the popular people in my school and they like me, but as I mentioned earlier, I don't hang out with them. I want to ask them, but I don't really know how. Also, if you have any advice about pickup in highschool In general or how to socialize with other people, add that in too. Thanks in advance

I'm in high social too. I have the same problems you have, although I'm no expert I find the better my fundamentals the more they want to speak to me (even the boys). When you have high fundamentals you have this charismatic vibe about yourself, but it takes time. My walk is great right now I'm working on eye contact, building social momentum, add depth and resonance in my voice, and getting smaller uniform. It's quite easy but you just have to remind yourself a lot to make it a habit. Six months and you can work on some other fundamental. It takes time but its worth it.

Ok, thanks. I have already started working on my fundamentals, but there are some I definitely need to get a better handle of. Thanks

Hey Atlas,

Yeah it's sometimes a struggle to gain entrance to the "popular" group. You have to know what the popular kids do. For example, at my school, it's football, basketball, and track and field. You said you're a distance runner, try joining track and do the 1600. If you have one of them in your class, try talking to them. Unfortunately, it's hard to help you because at my school popularity is less exclusive.

Just talk to kids in your class who seem cool.

Jake.

As they said, Sports! That's probably your best way in, as sports give you status in school. You sound like you are fairly fit. I am from the south, so football was huge at my high school. At the beginning of the season, most of the players would try to recruit anyone they could. Even me, a scrawny soccer player at the time.

If football isn't that big at your school, pick another team sport. Don't get hung up on the fact that you may have not played the sport yet. A lot of times, these schools just need warm bodies to fill the rosters, so the real athletes can play. :p

Also, have you seen that movie Fired up? Sometimes I think dude cheer leaders may be probably smarter than all of us.
