I'm going to be hanging out with a girl fairly soon; I've known her for a long time, but it's been a while since we've had any contact so I figure I have a relatively blank slate to work with. Anyways, it's not been explicitly framed as a date, but given that I won't be seeing her until then I figured I would not try to push to make it a firm date (and not just "hanging out") via texts, because I've always thought doing so comes across as needy. So I'm prepared to do the work framing it as a date when I actually meet her and see if I can get a positive response. The one factor I have to be prepared for however, is whether she's still seeing her long-distance relationship boyfriend. If I get extremely strong vibes that they have something great together, I won't push things and will be content to just hang out and move on, I don't want to wreck real love. However if she seems disinterested I'd like to take a shot at her, though as I've learned from Chase's articles, I won't try to supplant the boyfriend role right away.
This brings me to my question: What are some specific ways I can fit the "rogue" role that Chase describes as being a good counter to a dull boyfriend? I have a tendency to exhibit more boyfriend-like behaviors with girls I'm dating (too much effort), so I'm curious to hear of some tips and ways that can help build an exciting image that will not force me into competition with her boyfriend. I'm looking for ideas like some conversation pointers, frames, etc.
My goal is to make this evening a grandslam homerun; I want to leave her excited and pursuing. I'm pulling out all stops and I'm not at all hesitant to be bold; we haven't really seen much of each other for ages, so there's really no friendship to jeopardize.
