Hey guys,
So not really wanting to get into the Pro's and Con's of speed dating, it's not really my thing. But a female friend asked me this weekend if I'd go with her for moral support.
I was forwarded a very long email by a local Professionals Networking group with is running the event.
From what i can gather the events sell out for women but lack men. The group took a survey of attending women who they are looking for, below are the results:
Profiles:
A 35-39 year old with a bachelors degree who is employed working 40 or more hours per week.
A Foodie with a graduate degree who is employed working 40 or more hours per week
A Black or African American who is not religious and who is employed working 40 or more hours per week
A Black or African American Christian Democrat (x2)
An 35-39 year old white democrat.
A democrat with a graduate degree who is employed working 40 or more hours per week.
A white, independant Christian
A 26-30 year old with a bachelors degree who is employed working 40 or more hours per week.
A 31-34 year old athlete who is employed working 40 or more hours per week.
A white guy who has a bachelors degree and is employed working 40 or more hours per week.
A 26-30 year old guy who is not religious and has a bachelor degree
A white, nonreligious democrat
To me this all sounds bizarre. It basically all comes down to money and status. Nothing else.
I can only assume these are the specific requirements of each woman in attendance so I don't even see the point of the speed-dating. The group is looking for a single male who matches each womans profile. Therefore, wouldn't it just make sense to set each up on a blind date? Woman 1 would not even be interested in speaking to a guy who was matched for Woman 7 or 8 or 9 or whatever. Kinda defeats the purpose.
I was just wondering if you guys had any thoughts on what this says. To me it just tells me why these women are single, there are looking for something so specific they wouldn't even give something else a chance.
I'm tempted to go for laughs but I'd be mortified to date a woman I met at such an event.
Just found this kinda funny.
