I arrived at the run 15 minutes before, and realized my pack had been sitting wet for a week. Oh crap it's gonna be pretty strong smelling. I saw another group where I knew some of the women so I held my pack as I hugged a couple of them on my way to meet my group. One I knew from previous runs, one was one of my mate's wife, another older one was a former coach with a group I belonged to. Then another coach, a good looking older lesbian lady held out her arms and made a face as if to say "What about me?" So I gave her a one armed hug and wished the group well and went on my way. While all this was platonic, the physical contact got me feeling confident as I joined my group.
Immediately upon finishing the run, I'm sweaty, and so is everyone else, when a blonde locks eyes with me and asks "You are FT aren't you?" I recognized her and greeted her by name, and get a sweaty hug. Our mutual female friend is looking at us both as if she can sense chemistry between us. She asks how we know each other and I tell her that we trained together 10 years earlier. Then my female friend mischievously asks "So do you two have a *shower story at XX together?" With a mischievous grin I replied "That story is yet to be written".
I was waiting for the blonde to protest but instead I kind of got a look from her like: (minus the exclamation "Balls to the Wall")
I was pretty sure she was married still, and she filled me in on other aspects of her life. She mentioned her kid had graduated, but conveniently did not mention her husband of 7 years, or their infant that I see on FB...I mention my divorce was a couple years ago. Then I see the big rock on her hand and go friend zone...
My point is that if you have female friends who will paint you as a sexual man, infer it to their friends, then own it. But in a discreet mischievous manner that makes it seem like an inside joke. Not in a big vulgar public "hey I'm a Fuckboy" way.
*the Shower story refers to after a wet muddy run, I stopped by a local gym and grabbed a couple of cans of beer out of the cooler and went back to the shower they had in back. I emerged later with a woman and raised a few eyebrows.
