Talking when there are disruptive people around

Hey GC
So here goes
I've been going to a library since the past few weeks and one of my acquonatain in the Library introduced me to a girl . We instantly clicked and she was very warm,however an issue seems to be that there is another guy who knows her , and chases her hard , and accompanies here wherever she sits and makes it unable for me to connect /get close to her whosoever. The guy knows the girl from before I do , and I really don't know how to get to know her and carry it forward with the guy consistently being around.

If you have ever been around a woman with a toddler who is demanding her attention, you would know exactly what to do.

If you MUST know what he is to her, then ask. "So how do you guys know each other? " If she introduces him as her boyfriend then ok...bail.

But if he is just her friend, her brother, her roommate.....treat him like some bratty whiny 3 year old and talk to her like you two were alone.

Have the balls to ask her out right in front of him. Good eye contact, warm smile, you are going somewhere...on a certain day... and she can join you....
