This is an interesting screening question I’ve been asking girls. Here’s how it works:

I take a part of their personality they’ve just showed me/a general aspect of their outer looks and then if they’re always like that. For example, let’s say she’s just started being witty. You ask her…

Are you always this witty?

Or let’s say she’s super well dressed. You ask her...

Are you always this fashionable?

When I ask girls questions like these, they don’t have an immediate answer for me. They look to be thinking in their head for a few moments after I ask them this. And they never, ever give me a straight up yes/no answer. Why?

If they say yes….then they could be bragging and qualifying themselves to me.

If they say no, then they are making themselves look bad, and possibly disqualifying themselves. As well, it sets things up so that it looks like they’re trying to impress you. If they’re usually not witty, and they’re being witty right now, then it’s likely a special situation that they’re reserving the wit for - to seduce a guy!

Damned if they do, damned if they don’t. I can’t remember every answer that has been said, but yesterday when I asked a girl if she’s always witty, she said it was all relative after doing some heavy thinking. Huh? what’s that supposed to mean, lol.

Watcha guys think? Effective?

P.S. It’s funny how when you use, “are you always” followed by an ambiguous comment about them - “are you always like this?” - it turns into a neg of sorts.
