Way back when I was in college, one of my TA's was studying the "intellectual history" of something. I don't even remember the class, the guy, or what he was studying, just the concept.
People in the 1800's thought about X topic in a certain way, so they changed their behavior.
By the 1900's, people changed the way they thought about X topic, and then changed their behavior.
He studied the way that people's minds changed over time. It was just a throwaway conversation, but the concept stuck with me.
I just saw Rollo on the Fresh and Fit podcast. He brought a lot of things to the sphere based on him being on a lot of the old school pickup forums back in the day. One of the hosts of Fresh and Fit then started to talk about old school Roosh and how many predictions he made about the current state of a single man meeting girls.
Nowadays a lot of the new stuff/practical stuff is behind paywalls or in private telegram groups. But that was also the case back in the day. The infamous Mystery Lounge was said to have a lot of gems that were only available to his students.
Has anyone in the pickup community really done a collected history of how the thinking has changed over time?
